Advantages to hitting cross-court include:
- Hitting over the lower part of the net -Opening up maximum amount of court for which to use against your opponent -Making your opponent cover more ground

This strategy will cause your opponent to hit more balls, get tired more easily, and try to change the direction of the ball hitting over the higher part of the net. All which will result in unforced errors. So, hit cross court and be patient!
